About
Join us in bringing fun and connections into e-textiles by creating pair of gloves with ‘half a circuit’ of LEDs. Join us for an afternoon of "Wired connections", where we will have some hands-on fun with electronic connections in e-textiles. Each person at the workshop will create a pair of gloves with ‘half a circuit’ of LEDs and decorations on each glove. The circuit will only be completed when two of the gloves are touched together, either by the wearer alone or by forming a circle with the group. The workshop will demonstrate the basics of e-textiles and allow for a lot of relaxed creativity. We will provide all necessary materials and components, as well as offer suggestions for future projects. Everyone is welcome! The workshop will be run by Sophie Nadel (@snart.98, sophienadel.com ), a creative technologist who aims to break down barriers to tech by encouraging fun and exploration. Ticket link
Accessibility
The space is not currently ground floor, step free, or wheelchair accessible. The building is split level, and our floor is up 12 stairs. Our staff are happy to help carry mobility aids up the stairs.
We've self levelled the floors with concrete to make the space wheelchair friendly, and our tables and furniture are set up with accessibility in mind.
A gender neutral toilet is available. An accessible bathroom is currently in progress. · From Rhizomatic!
