Yellowed sweat stains, showers of sparks, and eerie white light stabbing through trees populate the landscape of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), a remake whose flashy teen cast and Michael Bay producer credit belie its artistry and overall merit. Daniel Pearl , cinematographer for Tobe Hooper 's original, returns and does something entirely different yet still just as grimy and gorgeous as the visuals that made Leatherface's spree so memorable to begin with.
