About
We're delighted to be welcoming TRIBE to lead a workshop as part of Scratch Sunday @ SET. Description: The Spirit of Intimacy: How to Build a Shrine is a TRIBE event exploring the shrine as a space of intimacy, memory, wellness and connection. Inspired by Sobonfu Somé’s book ‘The Spirit of Intimacy’, alongside Igbo and Yoruba understandings of sacred and ancestral spaces, the event asks what it means to give our intimate relationships a physical place to live. We will explore shrines not as religious objects or altars, but as spaces for tending to relationships with ourselves, our ancestors, our communities, our memory, spirit and the many things we wish to nurture. Participants will consider personal, communal and ancestral shrines, and how practices of reflection, offering, remembrance, care and ritual can become forms of wellness. Workshop is open to all.
