We are a friendly space for LGBTQ+ migrants with lived experiences of considering and applying for asylum to meet and connect.
For our September meetup, we are teaming up with Misha Zakharov and Jonathan Birtwell. This is will be a friendly in-conversation style event discussing education and asylum.
Misha Zakharov (he/they)
Misha is a London-based author, film worker, and PhD candidate in Film & TV Studies at the University of Warwick. He is a Russian-born person of Korean descent, as well as a pro-Ukrainian political and queer refugee in the UK.
Jonathan Birtwell (he/him)
Jonathan researches access to higher education in contexts of displacement. He is currently a Senior Tutor at the Afe Babalola Centre at King’s College London. He was previously with Refugee Education UK.
