Halloween IS Gay Christmas so join us for drag, drama and dalliance, surrounded by queens, kings and monarchs for a queer ol’ time! “I hate gay Halloween! What do you mean you're a fundraiser for future projects?” Here at Pansy, we are raising money for two upcoming projects: Open For Business (a queer anthology web series) and The Time After (a queer animated short), but as it's us, we aren't going to do a "normal" fundraiser! This will also be in memory of our incredible producer Hannah. This event was her idea, her baby, so we wanted to keep it as close to her original plan as possible. Please join us for a night of music, drag and performances, all whilst dressed in super specific niche costumes; if you don’t have to explain it to everyone, then YOU AIN’T DOING IT RIGHT! Performers TBA Wednesday 4th November 6 pm - 9 pm Ridley Road Market Bar 49 Ridley Road London E8 2NP Pansy Productions Pamphlet; Hi, we are Pansy Productions - Matt and Siân!  Queer siblings from the North West of England who grew up putting on plays in the living room, writing elaborate short stories, dressing up in whatever we could find, and generally being overly dramatic from a young age. We're working-class, neurodiverse, theatre kids turned adults (ish); we’ve both racked up ridiculous student debt studying drama (hi mum, sorry), and now we're finally doing something with it. Matt as a writer and director and Siân as an actor who's been secretly writing for years and has finally decided to stop hiding their work in random notebooks and Notes app entries. “Pansy”; Once a slur meaning gay or more feminine-presenting, we are reclaiming the word. Our work is rooted in queerness, messiness, humour, heartache, and figuring life out as we go. We're here to tell stories about chosen families, working-class lives, mental health, identity, and everything in between. If it's raw, real, and a little bit wonky-we're into it.  Basically, Pansy is for the weirdos, the softies, the loud laughers, the overthinkers, and the ones still working it all out. As a queer-led, working-class writing duo, we’re passionate about making stories that reflect the world we live in. We want to create work that centres marginalised voices without flattening them into moral lessons or stereotypes. Our work holds complexity and contradiction, joy and discomfort. This slur will become a badge of honour, showing resilience, creativity, support, and the power of chosen families. It will draw on real-life inspiration, making the work feel authentic. Together, we want to tell stories that would usually go untold or unheard. We want everyone's voice to matter.  So, welcome to Pansy Productions, where every story deserves its moment in the spotlight. A little bit about Ridley Road Market Bar; Ridley Road Market Bar is an independent and inclusive late-night Dalston venue which has been open for 13 years. Part tropical bar, part cultural hub, part 70’s disco, we are known as the place for a great night out that’s memorable, super fun, accessible and low-key.
