Fabrice Bourlez: Queer Metapsychology and Psychoanalytic Technique

About

A talk with Fabrice Bourlez, author of the recently-translated Queer Psychoanalysis: Minor Clinic and Deconstruction of Gender Join Fabrice Bourlez, author of the recently-translated Queer Psychoanalysis: Minor Clinic and Deconstruction of Gender, for his talk Queer Metapsychology and Psychoanalytic Technique: Politics of Tact. To what extent can queer theories help psychoanalysts rethink metapsychology and psychoanalytic technique? Starting from the question of tact—as distinct from touch—we will attempt to explore an unbridgeable gap between queer theories and psychoanalysis. The focus of this lecture is intended to be at once metapsychological, technical, and political.
