About

Welcome to the CHOP SHOP: a Tee Shirt Personalization workshop inviting the Rhizomatic community into the archival world of multidisciplinary artist Eva Dixon. After learning a bit about Eva's practice, participants will dive into the rich collection of Eva's vintage imagery collection. From girl guides and the space race to tradies, miners, trackers, and vintage sex symbols, Eva will guide participants on how to flip the sometimes sexist and homophobic attitudes of these old ads and clippings to create collaged T-shirts that embody queerness, community, and campy joy. Accessibility

The space is not currently ground floor, step free, or wheelchair accessible. The building is split level, and our floor is up 12 stairs. Our staff are happy to help carry mobility aids up the stairs. We've self levelled the floors with concrete to make the space wheelchair friendly, and our tables and furniture are set up with accessibility in mind. A gender neutral toilet is available.
