Can We Queer Our Thinking of Psychoanalysis? Only fifteen years ago I attended a conference on homosexuality in psychotherapy, where arguments were still being made to fit gay experience into Freud's Oedipus complex. Psychoanalytic trainings had only recently stopped treating the admission of queer people as a problem — having long held that queerness itself was a neurosis, one that could not be colluded with. Today, psychoanalysis can still project heteronormative assumptions — the objectification of trans and intersex experience being one example. Drawing on my own experience, on Freud's idea of the polymorphously perverse infant, and on his views on homosexuality, I'd like to open a conversation between us on queering psychotherapy. — Lakis Georghiou
