Art & Sex is a new series of evenings by the London School of Solarpunk to explore the role of sex in a solarpunk future❤️ We are a free, self-organised alternative art school for the people of 🌍 Learning to live collectively under the ☀️ with courses/socials/cultural programmes. 💗How much do you want a solarpunk future?💋🎨 Come and join us at the Haggerston pub on Kingsland Road, Hackney for our first Art and Sex evening - a new series of lectures, workshops and hangouts to explore the role of sex in a solarpunk future. 🕗🗓️Wednesday 30 September from 7.30pm - talks start at 8pm🕗🗓️ We have organised 2 special talks and 2 workshops to keep your minds and body stimulated: 🧐 'Why solarpunk and sex?’ - The London School of Solarpunk introduce the ideas behind this new series 🌹'Understanding your body through the science and art of the kamasutra' - Charchita is a lead biomedical scientist in histology but also happens to dabble in neuropathology alongside it. Having dissected brains, she has a good idea of how to understand them… ❤️‍🔥'Pyrosexual Pasts' - Adam Walls (he/they) is a lecturer in architectural studies at UCL and works at the intersection of queer theory, critical whiteness studies and the environmental humanities ❤️‍🔥🔮'Pyrosexual Futures: a ritual-workshop' - Byuka Makodru (they/them) is a queer migrant artist whose practice explores folk futurism, solar punk worldbuilding and animist witchcraft @fortunetailedbeast 🌱'Conaissance: the art of knowing and body sensing workshop' - Dani N'Guessan (they/them) is a poet and evil bisexual DJ. In this talk and workshop they invoke the role of the interactive stranger, body mapping a collage of what feels meh, what feels good and what feels really good @daniwhereyouat Free and drop-in as usual, but registrations help us plan!
