“The West is gonna perish, the West is gonna perish” Directed by Lizzie Borden, Born in Flames is a dystopian, post-punk documentary-style film set ten years after a peaceful socialist revolution in the US. It explores the failures of this new society to deliver equality, following diverse, radicalized women’s groups—including a "Women's Army"—who use pirate radio and direct action to combat persistent sexism, racism, and classism.
